Paper is wasted every day. It is used and thrown out. But, usually only 50% of the paper is used. The backs are typically wasted. Paper is made from trees. Oxygen is also produced by trees. Without trees we won’t have paper and we won’t have oxygen. Which means that we won’t be able to draw…and we won’t be able to breath! The backs of paper can be used as scrap for “To Do” lists, games, notes, math problems, writing stories, making snowflakes, and many, many other things. Let’s save the planet by re-using paper!

If we run out of fresh water on our planet, every living thing, including people, will die. And, since there are so many people on our planet, we are running out of fresh water. People in some parts of the world are already suffering. We need to conserve water any way we can. One easy way we can save fresh water is to keep the water off while we brush our teeth. We measured the difference. Wow!

Have you ever thought about how many plastic bags are placed in landfills everyday. Think about all the waste. We waste all kinds of energy and materials to make the bags, then we waste more energy and materials to ship or truck or fly the bags to retail stores, then we use them for ten minutes to carry a few grocery items from the store to the car, then we throw them away. What a waste. Multiply that times millions of people who do it every day. Wow! Let’s save the world by saying NO! to shopping bags.
