While Pants and her dad are walking in the city, they see a hungry man sitting beside the road. Pants’ dad explains to Pants that the man probably doesn’t have any money or food, and that there are people like him all over town. Pants feels sad for the man. She realizes that while she has a family, a home, food, and anything she needs, the man sitting beside the road has nothing. She decides to persuade her whole school to bring in food, one day at a time, so that the hungry man will be able to eat for a whole year. Her plan works and the hungry man eats like a king.
